FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATOR ? PART TIME ROLE
The Financial Administrator will work within the spirit of Solas
Project, the vision of which is an Ireland where all children and
young people truly know their self-worth and can take full advantage
of their potential.

REPORTS TO: Finance and Administration Support Manager
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
_ESSENTIAL:_
* Minimum of two years? experience in financial administration
* Appreciation and support of the ethos and values of Solas Project
* Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently and to
show flexibility as required.
* Highly proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
* Strong planning and organisational skills, working with accuracy
and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills and strong demonstrable
interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with all
stakeholders (donors, funding agencies, colleagues etc.)
* Flexible work ethic, ability to respond as needs arise.
* Good problem-solving and analytical ability.
_DESIRABLE:_
* A relevant and recognised qualification eg. Accounting Technician
* Experience working in the not-for-profit sector

ROLE DESCRIPTION
_FINANCE:_
* Weekly online credit card batch cross check, reconciliation, and
upload for Youth Workers across multiple programmes. (PLEO portal)
* Accounting records ? maintain proper books and accounting
records within Sage**Apply on the website** Accounts system, to comply
with SORP, Charities Regulator etc. Perform all necessary
reconciliations and advise management team of any discrepancies.
* Statutory reporting ? Take the lead in producing statutory
reports and returns for funders, e.g. Quarterly Returns and Drawdowns,
collaborating with the management team as necessary to collate
information required. Keep up to date with developments in statutory
requirements and inform management team of any implications.
* Budgets - Provide financial and analytical support with the
submission of individual programme application budgets. Prepare
quarterly comparison of budget vs actual and ensure that income /
expenditure is correctly allocated by core cost and programme.
Collaborate annually with Leadership team in collating an annual
organisation-wide master budget, including 6-month review and update.
* Assist with finalising monthly, quarterly, and yearly management
and financial accounts.
* Insurance ? regularly analyse insurance requirements and manage
tendering process to select most appropriate insurance provider for
different types of insurance required. Communicate and monitor
insurance limitations to colleagues for best practice, ensure 3rd
party liability cover is in place where requested.
_ADMINISTRATION:_
* Support Team Leaders to review and analyse data and performance
indicators across programmes.
* Develop and update systems to make them more efficient.
* Devise strategies for obtaining new prospects or opportunities
(financial or administrative) to ensure the ongoing development and
expansion of the project.
* Performing administrative for programme team members including
telephone calls and emails, electronic and paper filing, managing
supplies, responding to enquiries, writing drafting letters/emails,
sending out information.
* Regular weekly onsite work at three locations (Dublin 8 and Dublin
**Apply on the website**) for effective collaboration.
_OTHER:_
* You may occasionally be required to assist with the running of
other Solas Project?s programmes or activities.
* Be familiar with and abide by the project?s policies and
procedures, including child protection and health and safety
guidelines for workers and volunteers.
* Contribute to the wider strategic development of the project by
playing an active role.
* Ensure that the values and ethos of the project are reflected in a
consistent manner in all activities.
